A Season of Light and Hope
I believe that leadership is about helping others to see their own ability to make a positive difference in the world.
A Season of Thanks
A month into being back in our premises, it feels like this is the start of an exciting new chapter in Thrive's story. Even the physical space of the studio now feels fully aligned with our mission of Opening Hearts and Minds, Transforming Lives, Changing the World after its makeover.
Learning is Social
At Thrive, we’ve discovered that the recipe for classes full of happy, engaged young musicians and their grown-ups is knowing that they belong to a studio community that supports and accepts them as they are on their good days as well as on their bad ones too.
Breaking the Mould
You may have noticed that we take a different approach to music education at Thrive. I believe that if we’re going to change the world through music, then we need to redefine paradigms.
Empowerment Through Music
It’s a beautiful sight to behold as our Luminaries step into more of their own power. This is how we change the world through music.
Building Character Through Music
At Thrive, we see our students grow not just in their ability to express themselves through music but also in many areas of their personal lives.
The World Needs More You
But it was from those same ashes that Thrive came to be. And I resolved to redefine what music education can be.
As the World Turns
Lately, I've been finding solace in listening to voices that are compassionate, wise and thoughtful.
Being True To Yourself
When we act in ways that bring hope and inspiration to others, we feel more vital and alive. This is a power that we each have within us. And maintaining a compassionate stance of curiosity, generosity and humility is the way we claim that power.
New Year. Clean Slate.
Here's to a new year that's filled with meaning, purpose and contentment. And living a year that is yours to write.
A Remembrance of Things Past
When we choose to see one another through the lens of compassion, curiosity and generosity, we benefit from a deeper appreciation of what unites us. It also speaks to our collective responsibility to one another.
Giving Thanks
Over the years, my experience in working with hundreds of families has convinced me that there is strength and beauty to be found in community. When we learn and grow together, we find strength within ourselves and within those around us. We see our humanity reflected back to us by the people we share experiences with.
New Beginnings
We place such a high value on the commitment that our parent-coaches make to their children, that we start the year by focusing on empowering them. To kick things off this Saturday, we'll be conducting the first of our three Empowered Parenting Workshop days for the year. The line-up of topics includes a parent-friendly primer on developmental neuroscience to support your child's learning, strengthening your relationship with your child through connection and an exploration of how to help your child grow into a healthy, responsible individual through the lens of discipline.
