Of all the arts, music has the power to touch us most deeply. It soothes us, inspires us and motivates us. But have you also thought about the ways that it can also be character-building?

Developing Essential Lifeskills

At Thrive, we see our students grow not just in their ability to express themselves through music but also in many areas of their personal lives. Cultivating a long-term relationship with music takes patience and perseverance to begin with. It requires the ability to be compassionate with ourselves and with others as we learn to overcome challenges through exercising critical thinking and problem-solving skills. With the help of musical friends, we collaborate to inform our conversations around what is possible. We draw inspiration from one another. We learn to appreciate diverse points of view as we see how they can enrich our worldview. This helps us to be more empathetic and better able to envision new possibilities. We also learn to be more courageous and confident as we learn to work through the discomfort of learning how to do new things (especially piano) that require our time, effort and persistence.

Shining Your Light

We believe in every student’s ability to shine their light into the world to make it a better place. That’s why your child becomes a LUMINARY once they’re enrolled at Thrive. It’s also why we integrate leadership development into our musical curriculum at every stage. We believe in the power of music to help us cultivate these essential lifeskills that are also indispensable leadership skills. These are skills that will help your child design a personal compass that shows them how to live a life of meaning, purpose and integrity.

We can’t wait to embark on an extraordinary journey of music and leadership with you and your family at Thrive.
