Summer Notes from Thrive

Canoe on lake.

It's been 2 months since I last wrote one of these "State of Thrive" emails - the longest interval since I began doing this 3 years ago. For me, summer is time for renewal and it's made a world of difference in being able to do the work I do through Thrive.

Time spent reading, kayaking and listening to loon calls while watching the sun set in Georgian Bay provided me with the reset I desperately needed after a very busy year. I returned able to focus on the business of running Thrive. Most of the last month has been spent hiring and onboarding a new addition to Team Thrive so that I will have assistance on the operational side of the studio.

A Look Back at 2022 - 2023

Like many businesses, navigating Thrive and our community through the challenges brought on by the pandemic was an enormous hurdle to clear on top of managing one's own personal struggles. With the reopening of the studio in Fall 2022, more questions surfaced as new situations arose.

Thankfully, I had a lot of support from Thrive families as well as my own. The distillation of so many precious moments filled with connection, learning and growing as a community can only be described as life-affirming.

We closed out our year with a whirlwind of activity. Our Spring Kaleidoscope in May allowed students in our Collaborative Piano programmes to showcase their imagination, resilience and musical voice. And Lightfest in June was the perfect finale to this cherished year as the entire studio community wholeheartedly celebrated the light we each bring into the world. Pure. Unadulterated. Joy.

Looking Forward

It's been a lot of hard work and it's been thrilling to see some of it bearing fruit. We still have a month to go before we launch an exciting new schoolyear and our enrolment numbers are already where we were at pre-pandemic.

If you haven't yet secured a place for your child in September, you still have time. Some of our EXPLORE Kindermusik classes (babies to 6y) are at capacity but there is still some good availability. Click here to discover the EXPLORE Kindermusik class that's right for you and your child.

If you're considering piano lessons and your child is 5+ in September, click here to learn about our holistic, one-of-a-kind piano programme. It's the perfect piano beginning where your child will get to unleash their creativity in a dynamic, multisensory, multimedia and collaborative learning environment. All while cultivating a mindset that embraces growth and learning.

And if you have friends who are looking for a music school that feels like an oasis of acceptance, belonging and empowerment, help spread the word about Thrive. We want more families like you!

I hope that you're finding time to recharge and renew this summer and I look forward to our next opportunity to connect.
