FAQs: EXPLORE

  • Yes! Your child will love being able to connect with you in a joyful musical environment as you learn and grow together. In addition, you will receive weekly emails about some of the many ways in which you can support your child’s development physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.

  • Our EXPLORE Kindermusik classes have no practising requirements. However, you and your child will find that you will naturally want to apply what you learn in class, whether it’s tapping into your inner child to meet your child where they’re at or applying the power of music to your home life to increase your family’s sense of well-being and cooperation.

Access to your Kindermusik digital resources will make it easy for you and your child to enjoy the music, dances, stories and activities you both love and reinforce what your child is learning in class.

  • Every class begins with an intentional welcome song to let your child reconnect with their musical friends and prepare them for all the wonderful learning that they’ll be doing. Instrument play, creative movement and stories will nurture your child’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical and musical skills.

EXPLORE Kindermusik families know that everyone has good days and bad days. So if it’s your child’s turn to have a meltdown, we’ve all been there. This is a judgement-free zone where we focus instead on helping your child build the critical social and emotional skills they need to handle disappointments and frustrations.

As your child becomes familiar with class routines and rituals, they’ll know that they’re in a safe place where they’re accepted for who they are. Knowing that they’re cherished and that they truly belong will get your child’s brain ready to learn and grow.

  • Comfortable clothing which allows you and your child to move! Shoes are left at the bottom of the stairs before you come up to your class. We go barefoot in the studio so that your child’s sense of balance and movement are properly grounded. Being barefoot also keeps our classroom and waiting area clean for everyone.

  • If you or your child are exhibiting any cold, flu or covid-like symptoms (e.g. cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, etc.), we ask that you stay home.

You are welcome to join your class via Zoom if you are unable to come in-person.

For more details on how we ensure your family’s health and safety, please read our Health and Safety Policy.

  • Children learn best when there is stability. At Thrive, we consider each class to be its own class family. This gives each child the sense of safety they need to truly blossom into confident lifelong learners. Because children usually take 4 - 5 weeks to settle into a new routine, we do not offer trial or drop-in classes. For EXPLORE Kindermusik families new to Thrive, we offer our 100% Thrive Guarantee (see below).

  • If you are not 100% happy with your experience after 5 classes, email missioncontrol@thrivemusic.ca and we will gladly remove your child from their class. Billing to your card will cease from the following month, provided your email is received at least 7 days before the start of the following month.

  • Thrive is proud to be Canada’s first S.E.E.D. (Schools Excelling in Emotional Devleopment) Certified organisation. Not only does this reflect our commitment to the holistic development of your child but it also means that we will be able to provide your family with valuable resources, and support in your parenting journey.

  • We want you and your child to feel like you’re part of our family right from the start. In your Welcome Lightbox, you’ll find your very own Thrive bag, a special Thrive t-shirt, an instrument and other surprises that will provide your little one with endless hours of delight.
